Volker Engel and Marc Weigert win Satellite Award(tm) for "2012" The win was announced at the 14th International Satellite Awards ceremony on Sunday evening, December 20th, in Century City, California. The statue, awarded by the International Press Academy (IPA), was accepted by Rony Soussan, compositing supervisor of the "rebel unit" team for the film "2012", on behalf of Engel and Weigert, who are currently in pre-production of Roland Emmerich's Shakespeare drama "Anonymous" in Berlin, Germany. On Oct 31, 2009, Marc Weigert and Volker Engel presented the making of the "LAL" sequence in Roland Emmerich's "2012". The presentation, which included also producer Larry Franco, production manager Michael Malone and VFX producer Josh Jaggars, was moderated by DGA's Brian Frankish. |

Principal photography on Uncharted Territory’s family adventure “Raising Phoenix” to follow. Uncharted Territory owners Volker Engel and Marc Weigert have joined director Roland Emmerich and producer Harald Kloser as co-producers and visual effects supervisors on Emmerich's new sci-fi action adventure “2012,” to be distributed by Sony Pictures. Postproduction is alomst finished on the Sony lot in Culver City. The release of this visual effects tour de force is scheduled for November 13, 2009. Uncharted Territory’s own production, the family adventure “Raising Phoenix,” will start pre-production following the completion of “2012” next summer. Marc Weigert will direct the family adventure written by L.A. scribe Kurt Frey. Engel will produce. |
